Sardinia

This land does not resemble any other place ... Sardinia is out of time and history. David Herbert Lawrence

Spring, a rock garden of flowers. Autumn, it's still hot, deserted beaches. warm and bright Winter. Summer. An island for all seasons.

Pine forests, islands, forests of cork trees, rocky mountains, grasslands, springs, dunes, ponds with flamingos. Manners, Customs, different dialects. An island with many faces.

Sardinia is still attached to its traditions, there is no month of the year that does not have its own festival, its traditional sweets, its rites.

Inhabited for thousands of years (the oldest finds are 300 thousand years ago when it had a tropical climate), it was colonized by people coming from Anatolia.

And 'Nuraghic, named after the stone towers, dolmen (whose function is still unknown) that dot the area. Then came the Phoenicians, the Carthaginians, the Romans.

And yet the Visigoths, Byzantines and Arabs. The island had always maintained its cultural identity. The same one that fascinates us and that we find in parties, in archaeological remains, in its scenery.

Food and wine

The Sardinian cuisine is based on simple ingredients of the pastoral and farming traditions. It is ancient recipes passed down from generation to generation. For this reason, there are many variants of the same plate between the different regions of the island. They range from handmade sausages, the homemade pasta, the grilled meat, accompanied by dozens of different wines and bread varieties. Finally the desserts made from simple ingredients such as dried fruit, cottage cheese, honey, each with its own history, liqueurs such as myrtle and distillates.
